Filetopia 2.08 released...

Peterrr used our newssubmit to tell us about Filetopia, a new Napster-like program (I keep calling it that way..):

Filetopia only has one central server. However, this new release only scratches the surfaces of something big…real big. The new release of Filetopia prepares the client to connect with the upcoming globally deployed network. This network will be hosted by users all over the world and will help ensure Filetopias survival from greed and corruption that has plagued the remaining file-sharing communities.

Filetopia is a free communications software that includes: instant messaging, chat, e-mail, a powerful file sharing system with a search engine, online friends list and message boards.

What is unique to this software is the level of security and privacy that it provides. It uses a choice of strong ciphers and public key techniques for all communications and sophisticated techniques to protect your IP and thus make you truly anonymous and safe from attacks.

I just tryed it. It had 724 users connected with 1.5 GB shared. Although the design is not something to write home about, it looks nice. Something like IRC with several chat rooms and users share files in these rooms.

Well you can try it here. It's a complete free program.
