Our fearless leader MP|3, AKA Robin used our news submit to tell us "Sony explains how to make a backup of copy protected disc." Well thanks Sony, but this is a bit odd, plus most of us at CD Freaks have it down pat!
This site is designed to answer your questions about content protected discs being released by SONY BMG Music Entertainment, including:
|
In addition, if Sony/BMG still use the SunnComm solution for protecting the content, (someone correct me if I am wrong) all you really have to do is turn off autoplay on a Windows PC or simply hold the shift key in order to prevent the MediaMax software from being loaded on your PC.
However, this is simply not the point. It is obvious that one of the main purposes of purchasing music these days is to be able to "take it with you" in another digital form. So why in the world do we keep playing these games and why do the end users have to pay for such nonsense?
** I stand corrected, it appears that Sony BMG are not using MediaMax for
protection. But they are using a driver that can be disabled or removed. In
the Club CD Freaks Audio forum, member hyqyn has
posted a thread there and gives details on how to remove CDS-300 (MacroVision) & XCP (First 4 Internet)
Drivers.
