The reference values for Dual Layer DVD have been agreed

The VFT SG1 has come to an agreement on the reference for dual layer DVD read only discs.
With this agreement Philips is able to start measuring the individual calibration values to its Dual Layer Signal Disc.

The set of DVD read only calibration discs is now complete with the Single Layer (DVD5) and the Dual Layer (DVD9) Signal Disc. The discs have been produced by WAMO (olyphant, USA) and Philips takes care of the individual measuring of each discs and distribution.

Each disc is measured on a system calibrated against the DVD reference agreed upon and/or calibrated against international accepted references.

The DVD Forum provided each company licensed at the DVD FLLC for a DVD Read Only at a certain date a free Single Layer Signal Disc. We expect that this action from the DVD Forum will be repeated again with the Dual Layer Signal Disc.

Decision is expected to be taken at the VPC meeting on April 19 in Beijing.
