American police uses specially trained 'porn dogs' to find hidden HDDs, USB sticks and SD cards

Since a while the American police is working with specially trained 'porn dogs'. These dogs are able to trace hidden HDDs, USB sticks and SD cards. They are mainly used to find storage mediums with child pornography, according to Jon Dumas of the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers against the American TV channel KHOU. Dumas his  organization contributed $17,000 to initially fund the canine detectives.

The dogs are trained to find a specific adhesive that is found in HDDs, USB sticks and SD cards. These mediums are often used by childporn collectors who hide them around their house.

"We have found that there have been storage devices in safes under the slab of somebody's home, they hide it very well," according to a policeman, whose department is receiving the animal next month.

Also Tyler Dunman, Chief Prosecutor for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is happy with the dogs. He told KHOU about a case where officers didn't find anything at first, but when they took the dog in the second, it quickly found the devices they were looking for.

The dogs are called porn dogs and there are only a couple of them throughout the United States.
