Indie smartwatch manufacturer Pebble calls for users to ask Apple to finally approve their apps

Independent smartwatch developer Pebble wants users to address the long time it takes to release an update for the Pebble app and a new app for the Pebble Time in the Apple App Store. The delay causes users with an iPhone and the Pebble Time to not be able to use the combination because the iPhone app has still not made available by Apple.

Pebble has published tables which show how long Apple takes to make available an update for the Pebble app and the release of the Pebble Time app in the App Store. The Pebble Time app is in review since the 23th of May while the update of the Pebble has the same status since April 22th.

Pebble calls for users to ask Apple by email, Facebook and Twitter to approve the update and the new app. Pebble claims that last year an update to the Pebble app was approved within 24 hours.

Pebble released their own watch after raising about $10 million on Kickstarter. The smartwatch has been sold more than a million times already and more than 1,000 apps are available for the device. The Pebble watch supports both Android and iOS. The Pebble time is the latest version of the smartwatch and retails for $199. For that users get an 64 color e-paper display and 7 days battery life.

It's unknown why  Apple takes so long to approve the apps. Apple sells their own smartwatch since April this year, the Apple Watch.
