Samsung is delaying the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone because of quality issues. A Korean press agency even reports that Samsung is planning to recall all Galaxy Note 7's because of several incidents of exploded batteries.
Samsung has not officially announced the recall but according to anonymous sources of Korean press agency Yonhap News it will be announced within the next 7 days. The reason for the recall would be 5 or 6 incidents with exploding batteries. To prevent further issues Samsung would be doing additional quality control which is the cause of delays in the release of the Galaxy Note 7.
According to sources of Yonhap News only 0.1% of the Galaxy Note 7 devices is affected by the issue and simply replacing the battery would divert the risk of any further explosions. Samsung reportedly hasn't announced the recall because it is in talks with business partners and providers.
The Galaxy Note 7 has already been released in 10 countries including South Korea and the United States. The smartphones sold in these countries are likely to be recalled and the release in other countries now appears to be going to delayed.
Samsung Germany has confirmed the smartphone will be delayed on Twitter and TechRadar confirms a delay in the United Kingdom. A Dutch Android website claims it has received reports from retailers that the Galaxy Note 7 will be delayed till October in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Samsung was unable to keep up with demand before the first reports of exploding batteries.
