Mitsumi CR-4809TE vs. Lite-On LTR-24102B

 

Data reading tests:

First a test using Nero CD-Speed, the CD we used for the testing was a CD-R filled with data, the total length was 80 minutes and 25 seconds.

This picture shows the Mitsumi at reading the data disc.

This picture shows the Lite-On at reading the data disc.

And then a test using Transferspeed:

The Mitsumi.

The Lite-On.

Data reading performance summary:

Both drives were able to deliver the rated speed. The Lite-On is faster, but only by a hair. On the other side the Mitsumi has better seek times. Since seek times are more important in practical use than the small performance difference, the Mitsumi is the winner here.
