The Notion Ink Adam tablet device was first announced late last year and will launch in June with Flash support, according to media outlets reporting on the device today.
The Adam uses the NVIDIA Tegra chipset with a Pixel Qi lower-power screen, and has a battery that is expected to offer support up to two times longer than the Apple iPad tablet. The Adam is a Google Android-powered device that is expected to ship with e-books and digital magazines offers, with customers able to control the content they want to receive.
Some bloggers believe the iPad will be popular among casual consumers, while the Notion Ink Adam will have success among tech enthusiasts. Notion Ink is a tech company that operates with a high level of anonymity, but specializes in products aimed at tech-savvy consumers.
It's believed Adam will be available in two different models -- one is 11.6mm thick, while the other is a larger 12.9mm model -- and it's possible there will be two different screen sizes. The Adam will also have native 1080p HD video support, while the iPad maxes at 720p.
As the battle between Apple and Adobe heats up over Flash, the tablet from Notion Ink sides with Adobe, shipping with Flash support out of the box. Company politics aside, shipping a tablet without Flash support seems like a very big mistake to me.
Pricing information and an exact release date are still unknown, and the company hasn't stated when additional details will be released.
