Android will suggest apps based on location

Android will suggest apps based on the location of the user. This should make it easier for users of Google's mobile operating system to quickly download an app that is relevant to their location. E.g. the feature can suggest an audio tour app when the user is in or near a museum, or suggest the app of an airliner when at an airport.

Users will receive a notification banner that shows the suggested app and which opens the Play Store when tapped.

Google devices like Chromecast and Android Wear watches will also become location aware, when an user is near them a notification pops up that can be tapped to set up such a device.

To use Nearby, as the feature is called, Bluetooth and Location needs to be turned on. The feature will be rolled out to users as part of the upcoming Google Play Services and will be available for Android 4.4. and higher.
