Crucial announces SATA-2 Crucial v4 SSD line

Crucial today introduced the Crucial v4 Solid State Drive (SSD) range. These drives aren't your fastest choice as they connect to the PC using the older SATA-2 interface and Crucial specifies that the Crucial v4 SSDs offer read speeds up to 230MB/s and write speeds up to 190MB/s.

But they are relatively cheap and if you purchase the latest SATA-3 drives and you can't use it anyway, this might be the right choice for you. The drives have 25nm Micron MLC NAND Memory and use an unknown controller.

The drives will become available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities with MSRPs of $49.99, $69.99, $99.99, and $189.99 respectively and backed by a three-year limited warranty.

Discuss this in our Solid State Drives (SSD), Hard Drives and NAS forum.
