DVD-Ranger hopes to raise $86,000 to fund SoundTouch 3 development

The developer of DVD-Ranger hopes to raise €76,500 ($86, 259) to fund the development of his new Cinavia removal solution SoundTouch 3. He has posted a campaign on the GoFundMe crowdfunding platform explaining why funds are required. The funds should help to further develop software that should be able to remove the Blu-ray audio watermark copy protection Cinavia without downloading a database.

In short the developer has posted a personal story explaining he has gone through a divorce and is now a single father with three kids. Because of his kids he can only take a part-time job which he found to be low paying and without any job security. Therefore he decided that he wanted to do something that would "give him his dignity back", as he writes. It should also ensure he has enough free time to take care of his kids.

He writes that he so far created with SoundTouch 2 he developed a 'state of the art' software product which has been successful so far but needs to be redeveloped. To do so, he has to invest his personal resources and because he is short of funding he is asking for money.

Apparently the requested €76,500 should be sufficient for further development of SoundTouch 3 but so far only €45 ($50) has been raised. If you feel it's a good idea to invest in this then head over to the GoFundMe page of DVD-Ranger.

It's not the first time DVD-Ranger is asking for money to fund his software. Earlier he hoped to raise $120,000 to fund development of CinEx. The campaign was posted on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform but was taken offline as it was reported as fraud. At that time $100 was raised.
