Google has developed a device that will help stinking people. The device will warn users that they smell bad. Google's patent pending technology is able to sniff body odor and judge whether it's bad or not. If it determines you smell bad and you're on your way to somewhere, it will use social networks to locate friends and suggest a new route.
"The route suggesting portion may provide an alternate route to travel such that the predicted odor may not offend others that are socially connected to the user and that travel the same routes as the user", Google writes in the patent. To determine whether you smell bad the device uses various sensors to measure e.g. your body temperature and heart rate. These indicators assist in determining the perspiration level. In other words: how much you sweat.
If you think that's not crazy enough, the device has another feature. If it's too hard to avoid a friend, e.g. because you really need to be somewhere, the device can emit a refreshing scent to mask the body odor.
Let's hope the device won't be too expensive so you can give it as a present to your smelly colleagues and friends!
