The last 100 days of Microsoft’s offers to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users to switch to Windows 10 for free start today. When Microsoft released its latest operating system it promised Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Home and Pro users that they could upgrade to Windows 10 for free for a year. That year ends the 28th of July 2016, which is 100 days from today.
Microsoft has not hinted that the period will be extended and therefore users who are interested to switch to Windows 10 should decide soon whether they will or won’t. It’s unknown whether Microsoft will continue to advertise the Windows 10 upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users as it does now. The company is recently a lot in the new for aggressively convincing users to upgrade to its latest OS.
Windows 10 was launched on the 29th of July 2015. Microsoft hopes that eventually 1 billion devices will run the OS, a lot more than the current 200 million.
