Microsoft pulls Windows 8.1 RT update from Windows Store

Microsoft has temporarily pulled the 8.1 update for Windows RT tablets from the Windows Store. The company has not disclosed why it decided to take the update for ARM tablets offline other than a statement on their Answers Forums stating the reason was a 'situation affecting a limited amount of users updating their Windows RT devices to Windows RT 8.1'.

While PC users can update to the largest update Microsoft has released for Windows 8 so far, Windows RT users will have to wait for an undisclosed time.

The culprits seem to be errors with codes "0x80004005-0x20004"  and "0xc000000d" which are reported by numerous users. The latter also has returns a more clear error code: "The Boot configuration data file is missing some required information".

Microsoft released a Surface RT Recovery image for those Windows RT users on a Microsoft Surface tablet. It remains unclear when Microsoft will bring back the update to Windows 8.1 RT back in the Windows Store with the errors fixed.
