Microsoft's Windows 365 cloud operating system seems to be a reality. Information from LinkedIn appear to confirm the platform is in development and reveals some details on what Windows 365 actually is.
The last couple of months several times the product name Windows 365 popped up, the OS was mentioned by Russian hacker group WZOR and Chinese Microsoft leaker Faikee. Windows 365 is rumored to be a cloud version of Windows with likely subscription based earnings. Despite the rumors, not much information about Windows 365 has been confirmed so far, some journalists doubt its existence.
Today we can add additional information to the rumors, as the information comes from LinkedIn profiles, take it with a grain of salt, but its at least interesting.
Several LinkedIn profiles (here and here - latter thanks at @hOxOd )confirm that Windows 365 appears to be in development. However we found information that Windows 365 appears to be something different than expected.
The LinkedIn profile of someone affiliated to Windows 365 states: "Presented at Microsoft HQ to Gonnie Been, the project combined Steve Ballmer's "One strategy, One Microsoft" approach with Satya Nadella's "Mobile first, cloud first world" direction. The project involved the new OS platform "Windows 365", which is cloud based and unites all smart devices."
Another profile mentions, "Alignment the one strategy with "Mobile first, cloud first", we generated the "Windows 365" which is an OS platform in cloud enabling users to log into their own customised OS in different devices."
What this exactly means is unclear. It might be a web based (cloud) interface from which you can access your device. This could be similar to Airdroid, which allows you to control your Android phone from any browser.
Update: @hOxOd lets us know that the Windows 365 project mentioned above is part of a student project. This could mean the above information is not about the same Windows 365 as we could find in LinkedIn profiles of the Microsoft employees.
