HP today announced a new PCI-Express card that has room for four M.2 SSDs and should be 16 times faster than a standard SATA SSD at a similar cost. The Z Turbo Drive Quad Pro is a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 card that makes it possible to fit up to four M.2 PCIe SSDs while using only one PCIe slot.
At it's maximum the Z Turbo Drive Quad Pro should allow sequential data transfers of up to 9GB/s. The card has additional components such as 6 super-condensators that allow it to save data during data loss.
The HP Z Turbo Drive Quad Pro should become available in November and set you back $1376 (€1276) for a fully loaded card with four 256GB modules.
