'Sony and Panasonic to quit cooperation on OLED development'

Sony and Panasonic will cease to cooperate on the development of OLED panels and module before the end of this year. The Wall Street Journal reports  both competitors worked together on a new production method for OLED screens and have decided to continue separately after one and half year.

The companies might find other ways of cooperation on OLED panels but the current way of cooperation will end. The WSJ states it's unclear why the cooperation ends, working together has been beneficial for both companies, it fastened the development of OLED TVs.

Both companies worked together on a new technology for the development of TV by printing an organic substance instead of the regular deposition method. S0ny and Panasonic showcased a 56" OLED TV at CES 2013 which used the technology.
