The Texas Chainsaw Massacre disc is already listed on the German Amazon where the release date is set at the 27th of May this year. It comes with two additional Blu-ray discs, one contains the movie in 1080p and the other with bonus material.

Despite that the movie was shot in 1974, the movie is marketed as true 4K, without upscaling. German Heise reports that the German and English language versions are each available in Auro-3D 13.1, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 and DTS HD Master Audio 2.0 mono. The original English soundtrack is also available in a DTS-HD Master Audio stereo track.

The Auro 3D and Dolby Atmos tracks were made by two different teams working with the same 7.1 master. The Auro 3D mix was produced by the Belgian Galaxy Studios, which is from the same owner as Auro Technologies, the developer of the format. The added Blu-ray disc contains 220 minutes of bonus material, including 4 audio commentaries and a soundtrack with music and effects. Also a license to watch the movie in HD on mobile devices is included.

Auro 3D and Dolby Atmos are both variants of immersive audio formats. Both started as cinema formats but are now available for the home user too. Both technologies promise moving 3D audio that flows around you.
