According to a news published at Digitimes, Hitachi announced its Deskstar 7K1000, the first 1 TB hard disk drive available in the market.
This drive features the perpendicular magnetic recording technology, and will be available both in PATA and SATA models in the first quarter of 2007 at a suggested retail price of US$399 (or about € 300).
Other than the interface, the PATA and SATA models differs in buffer size, 8 MB and 32 MB respectively.
