According to news published at DigiTimes, CMC and Ritek will start the production of 6x BD-R discs in August. The single and double layer versions of the recently introduced 6x media will be launched in Japan next month by Panasonic, who already started production of this new media.
As you can imagine, prices of these discs will be really high, so the already available 2x and 4x media (that are anyway not exactly cheap at the moment) will remain the preferred choice by users.
