Amazon launches DVD rental service in the UK

ThunderJon used our news submit to tell us "But there are rental limits in total DVDs per month. Boooooooo Amazon! You better not open up here in America with limits, you"ll sink your brand."

Amazon said its U.K. service will start at about $15.50 a month. Customers also will get 10 percent off DVD purchases. The lowest-price service will let customers keep two DVDs at a time, and rent a total of four DVDs per month. For about $19.30 per month, customers can keep up to three DVDs at a time, and rent six per month.

Well according to the article, other rental services wont
have to worry about competition from them, because Amazon does not plan to offer
rentals in America. Good thing too, because they aren't as cheap ass Netflix or Blockbuster at about 18 bucks and no limits (supposedly). However, to the UK crowd, Amazon Chief Executive Jeff Bezos said that they are determined to be the best place to rent DVDs.
