Amazon opens Xbox Live Store

Amazon has launched a new Xbox Live Store, offering Xbox Live subscriptions, Microsoft points, and download codes for Xbox Live Arcade games.

The prices at the Amazon store are the same as through Xbox Live or when purchasing points at a brick and mortar retail store.  However, many Xbox Live users complained that it was sometimes difficult to make purchases using Microsoft's point-based system.

I personally hated how it's seemingly impossible to buy enough points for a $5 game, as the value of points always seemed to be odd amounts.  I didn't like having leftover points because Microsoft decided to make the process overly complicated.
Purchasing through Amazon will allow gamers to make purchases without leaving the house while avoiding the use of the Xbox Live marketplace.  Just pay for a game and get the download code, without the need of worrying about points or anything else.

Amazon continues to expand its business offerings, so I'm not really surprised they opened a store specifically for Xbox Live.  Assuming the company wants to rack up serious sales, dropping the price of games and points will likely need to happen at some point -- and since the store just recently launched, it's very possible price reductions will take place in the future.

Is this an Amazon store you'd be willing to make purchases from, or am I just giving Amazon too much credit?
