The belgian authority IFPI is writing to dutch universities and other organisations, with the request to delete users of their network who spread belgian music songs.
The organisation is making a list of belgian numbers and also asks Napster to block all songs, and to add them in their filter. A full list is send to Napster next week wich have to end the exchange of belgian songs.
They are searching the Napster network for illegal songs. According to spokesman Olivier Materlink
this goes by connecting to napster and search for belgian songs. This way they can find
the IP addresses.

De organisatie speurt via Napster naar illegaal verspreide Belgische muziek. Volgens woordvoerder Olivier Materlink gebeurt dit handmatig: 'We maken zelf connectie met Napster, en speuren naar Belgisch repertoire. Zo verkrijgen we een IP-adres en kunnen we de overtreder aanspreken.'
They say they already notified over 12 thousand individuals !!!! Can you imagine this.... 12.000 persons... and how do they find them?? BY HAND! They search napster, get results and write the info (IP) down. Djeez nice jobs do these guys have. What do you say to yourself if u go home.. today I notified 200 users again? Nothing against belgian people but this sounds stupid!
They also say Buma/Stemra hasn't taken any action yet, because they are still busy with closing down web- and ftp-sites... yea right.
