A colleague of mine received a letter AND a message from Micro$oft, telling him that he is using a illegal copy of WinME. They found out (so HE said) when he was using IE, because IE send his serialnumber to MS. MS tracked his IP-address and asked @Home the name and address of this colleague. |
My big question is: does this sound realistic to you or is it a bunch of crap?
Micro$oft keeps telling the public that they are not using tactics like this to trace illegal software...but that's the same company that tells us that they make a stable Operating System
