So finally news from the CloneCD front, Oliver Kastl has released a beta of CloneCD v3.0.0.0 for testing. A new feature is that it contains 'on the fly' burning. This seems to work if you want to copy SD2 protected CDs. Unfortunately this beta is not public available.
Some first reactions of beta testers:
Anyone expecting SD2 to be successfully backedup may be disappointed. However, SafeDisc can be successfully backedup using On-the-Fly. Olli has included a very big buffer, 37Mbs (default) for my Plextor 1210A and this enables CloneCD v3 to read past the 800 -> 10200+ "Failed to Read Sector ???" before it starts the BURN process. BTW, it was successful using Dungeonkeeper2 which is SafeDisc. |
