Clony XL Beta1 released...

KiLLeRsEppL used our newssubmit to tell us that Clony XL Beta 1 has been released. Clony is able to find the copy protections on a copy protected CD, and pass the right settings to backup this CD to CloneCD.

Clony XL Beta 1 is Clony with a lot of improvements. This is probably because Clony now is able to control more functions of your CD drive because of the use of the ASPI drivers.

Here's the changelog (Translated from German):

- Clony now needs ASPI drivers. (In Windows 98/98SE/Me they are systemfiles). Win2000 and NT users will have to install them seperately.

- Clony now finds damaged sectors on the CD.

- The right TOC is read, so Clony will now also

data tracks that are behind audio tracks. This also means that Clony is able to detect if it's a data or audio track.

- The problem with detecting the CD is history.

- Clony can read the sectors of a CD and show them.

- New Rechtschreibfehler.

- CD Extra will be detected.

- A Dialog box with all the possible info of a CD will be shown.

- Cloni.ini and Clony_CD.ini are now in Windows style.

- New splash screen, and new scan sound.

If you make a lot of backups, then this tool is a must have !
