DTS announces Platinum High Performance HDD

Recently has been introduced in the market hybrid hard disc drives (HDD) containing a flash memory to make discs faster. DTS announced a new category of drive, formerly known as the MCell Drive, the Platinum HDD. This drive combines 1GB of SDRAM cache with up to 200GB of conventional storage. According to the official product page, key advantages are the following:

  • 10-100 times the transaction performance of traditional HDD

Efficiency

  • Uses 1/3 less energy than traditional 3.5” HDD
  • Provides up to 8 times the data throughput of conventional HDD

Data Integrity

  • Includes a UPS within each unit to ensure your data is safe in the event of a power failure

  • Lasts up to 30% longer than regular HDD

Integration

  • No new application software needed
  • Compatible with any OS that supports SATA (Windows, Mac, Unix, Linux)
  • Can be used in conjunction with regular HDDs.
