a²° used our news submit to tell us that there is a newer version of CD-DA extractor out now. It's been a while since we posted some news for this software. So for those of you who are not familiar with it, Easy CD-DA Extractor can rip, burn and convert audio files. What's New in version 8.1: - New updated better user interface
- Musepack encoder and decoder updated to version 1.15v
- New installer software
- Code optimizations, installer now 0.5 megabytes smaller
- Code optimizations, decoding files now faster (the full version)
- Entire ID3/metadata tagging system rewritten; "Album Artist" field added, now easier to add new fields to the future versions
- Better Unicode/UTF8 handling
Bugfixes: - Monkey"s Audio APE encoding/decoding did not work on non-Unicode platforms in the last version, now works again!
- Adding files (other than MP3 and WAV) to Audio CD Creator sometimes stalled, FIXED!
- Changing Artist-field in the main window now reflects the changes to the track artist fields
- Plus some additional minor bugfixes and changes here and there
