Just when you thought that the speed of DVD burning had stopped at 18x, Lite-ON has is about to release two new 20x DVD burners. The new models LH-20A1P and the LH-20A1H are supposedly 10% faster than current 18x dvd burners and 25% faster than 16x models.
The difference between the two drives is that the LH-20A1P is just a normal burner and the LH-20A1H is a lightscribe compatible drive. The normal version will be out first and will cost around £30, the Lightscribe version will cost a bit more.
The specs for the drives at 20x writing for DVD+/-R, 8x Dual Layer and CD burning rated at 48x. Lightscribe is written at 1.6x The interesting thing is that the reading for dvds is still 16x.
