Macromedia Merger

Web design company Macromedia, creator of such products as Dreamweaver and Flash, has purchased rival business Allaire for $360 million.

The news of the acquisition follows the announcement of Macromedia's prediction-busting third quarter earnings, which hit $16.2 million.

Allaire is responsible for software including ColdFusion.

Also, at the moment, Macromedia is being sued by Adobe for infringing copyright laws. Adobe claim that Macromedia has copied the design templates of the software.
