Memorex expands optical storage line with new combo drive


According to a press release, posted on Yahoo! Finance, Memorex has announced a new CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive. The drive supports 48x read and CD-R write speeds while re-writing of CD-RW media can be done at 24x. The new combo drive can play DVDs at 16x:

The Memorex Combo Drive solution comes with a comprehensive software and hardware bundle that includes:

  • Samples of Memorex's award-winning CD-R and CD-RW blank media, a complete installation hardware kit, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Ahead Software's NeroBurning ROM 5.5, the industry recognized solution for CD recording. It delivers ultimate reliability and ease of use, and provides an extensive set of features not available in Nero Express, the software most commonly offered in competitors' products.
  • Ahead Software's InCD, an integrated packet writing solution that offers the greatest stability, ease of use, and compatibility available. Exclusively for rewritable media, InCD allows you to simply drag and drop files direct to CD, or edit and save files directly onto disc.
  • CyberLink's PowerDVD XP 4, the highest rated DVD playback software available, enabling interactive viewing of both DVD-Videos and VideoCDs.
