Midbar expands into Taiwanese market



Midbar the developers of Cactus Data Shield (CDS) digital music copy control technology, announced today that several CD manufacturing plants in Taiwan have adopted their technology and installed it in their plants:



The encoder of the Cactus Data Shield copy control system, is now installed in seven manufacturing plants in Asia including Utech and Infodisc in Taiwan and five major manufacturing plants in Japan, among them Toemi (Toshiba EMI), Nippon Columbia, Memory-Tech and PVC (Pioneer Video Corporation).

"The Asian market is moving ahead very quickly in adopting copy control technology as a means of combating music piracy," said Ran Alcalay, CEO of Midbar. "Midbar has millions of CDS protected CDs in the Asian market. To date, the releases have gone smoothly and we are pleased with the results."
