In the beginning of may 2001 Nec will release Packard's Bell "video dre@m machine". This baby has just like some Apple computers a DVD recorder inside. There isn't much info about the DVD drive yet.... the only thing I know is that it is a Pioneer drive can't rewrite.
The PC used is a P4-1,4 Ghz, 128MB RIMM memory, 60Gb HDD and a TVtuner-card. Packard Bell also deliveres software with it to let your system act like a VCR.
It will be available in Holland for the price of fl 7000. DVD recordables will cost about fl 35.... So 200 DVD's cost as much as the complete system....
Well I won't buy it. Better wait and let the market do it's job (to lower prices and get better products for less!)...
