Netflix only to stock Blu-ray movies

The online video rental company Netflix said today that they will exclusively rent Blu-ray movies. Netflix says that they choose Blu-ray because many major movie studios already did the same. After Netflix came on the market in 2006 they stocked DVDs using both Blu-ray as the HD DVD format.

Currently four of the six major studios have decided to be in the 'blu-camp'. Netflix sees this as a clear signal, and will from now on only buy Blu-ray movies. By the end of this year Netflix plans to phase out its complete HD DVD stock.

This news can be seen as a big blow to Toshiba. With many parties leaving some say the end is near. What do you think, will Toshiba throw in the towl, or are the impressive sales figures of the last three weeks enough to continue?
