Nikon managed to put 1.05 GB on the existing CDR's. How they did it is not yet know (because they don't want to tell us) but it sure sounds nice.
The strange thing is that they'll only be using 8cm discs right now. Well it's not that strange. The current cd rom players CAN play 8cm discs with the extra capacity, but the 1.05 GB 12cm discs seem to be a problem!
Nikon is still doing some research right now because they want to use the technique also for DVD's and CDRW's....
Well it sure sounds nice, but if it will ever reach the market.... don't ask me!
And I'm afraid current burners won't support this
