As some of you maybe already knew, we are currently running the site on our own dedicated server. This PIII 800 with 512 MB RAM should easily handle both our site and our forum.
So that's why after some days of hard work, the forum is back. Special thanks go to PHPMarcel for his hard work installing it, and to Jungleboy for his additional tips.
We're now running Vbulletin. This means we have a central database with the postings and usernames, and this makes it's easier to backup the forum and reinstall it (should be a 5 min job now, instead of the dozens of hours with UBB).
BUT, we don't know for sure, if this server and it's current configuaration will be able to handle all the visitors. We encourage you to go to our forum and post, and let's see how this baby will handle all of you
If it can't handle all the visitors, then nothing is lost, we will make a backup, and will play with some settings, and hopefully, this will end in a smooth running forum, just as before !
NOTE: As good as all usernames/passwords and postings are still there, if you forgot your password then ask the forum to mail it you. Also make sure the check before - Email Notification -is off.
