Philips and Roxio join forces to prevent buffer underrun

Roxio and Philips today announced that Philips will ship its new high performance drives with Easy CD Creator and DirectCD, including the enhanced Roxio PureBurn CD-Recording engine



Roxio has worked closely with Philips to enhance its buffer management techniques in Easy CD Creator to prevent buffer underruns in the high performance drives from Philips," said Tom Shea, Chief Operating Officer of Roxio, Inc. "The new burn engine in Easy CD Creator will significantly reduce a common user problem in high speed CD recording."

Precausing buffer underruns seems to be something all drive and software producers care about a lot, and it's important to make burning more user-friendly, but what about giving us back full control of our drives, so we can backup safedisc 2 protected games ?
