Plextor announces world's first DivX certified personal video recorder

Plextor
has today sent us a press release in which they announce the world's first DivX-certified personal video recorder (PVR), the ConvertX PX-TV402U. This external device allows users to record video in real time and straight into the DivX format or one of the other supported formats (MPEG-4, MPEG-2 and MPEG-1).

The PX-TV402U supports different video resolutions suited for both full-size TV's and monitors, as well as portable and handheld devices. Of course, just like its predecessor, the ConvertX PX-M402U, the PX-TV402U can be hooked up to a camcorder, VCR or DVD player, enabling users to transfer home videos to a PC.

Plextor has unveiled its ConvertX PVR PX-TV402U personal video recorder, the world's first real time DivX Certified PVR (Personal Video Recorder). The PX-TV402U allows connection to a satellite receiver, cable or broadcast TV signal for watching and recording television programmes and home videos to a PC or DVD. As well as for just watching TV, Plextor's convenient and flexible solution enables the user to either store data on the computer for watching at a later date or burn data direct to DVD, saving hard drive space and time.
