RIAA attempting to deceive regarding AllofMP3?

In a move that is either incredibly curious, or as a part of a deliberate attempt at obfuscation, allegedly the RIAA claims it is not seeking $1.6 trillion from AllofMP3.com.  It attempts to paint the 'claim' regarding the suit as rampant speculation among RIAA pundits that leads to this figure, and by 'playing coy,' it makes it sound as if it has yet to decide on a dollar amount per track it is seeking in damages from the Russian music service.  Why the RIAA is suddenly backpedaling is unknown; the only certainty is that the RIAA would definitely love to see AllofMP3.com gone.

The only other noteworthy piece of information is that we discover that the actual percentage for royalties being paid to ROMS is 15%.  Otherwise, the above article is a curious aberration in the RIAA's behavior.  If any of our regular readers can help CDFreaks nail down some more details on this development, please feel free to include links to related articles in your reactions.
