SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 adapter reviewed @DragonSteelMods

An interesting piece of hardware was reviewed at DragonSteelMods. It is an adapter that can take a hard drive, be it 2.5”, 3.5” or SATA or even an optical drive and make it into a USB device.

Besides the ability to connect any interface to an USB port, another really appealing feature of this "universal" adapter is the price: $33.99 (about €25).

Installation is very easy, because it requires only three simple steps: plug the adapter into your hard drive, plug the power connector in and then the USB connector to your computer.

The main drawback of this adapter is the speed, but this is not a surprise because the USB port is not the fastest connection available. In reviewer's test, the average read rate is around 32MB/s, different brand of hard disk will have a little bit difference, but it should be minimal.
