Some HDCP capable nVidia cards limit DVI to single link

According to this report on the Inquirer, those interested in going for a HDCP compliant card to prepare themselves for HD DVD or Blu-ray playback may still be faced with resolution restrictions due to limitations of using HDCP and Dual Link output on some of nVidia's HDCP compliant cards.  For example, the G80 (with NVIO) and the G7x and R5xx series cards are limited to single link output when HDCP is in use.

While the article mentions the output resolution is limited to around 720P without dual-link, according to several sources that explain the difference between single link and dual link DVI (such as this Wikipedia source on DVI), a single link cable is capable of handling up to 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz (1080p/60).  Unfortunately, as HDCP is required for the playback of Blu-ray, HD DVD and potentially other HD video content sources due to come out in the near future, consumers with displays of a higher native resolution (such as 1920 x 1200 or higher) may be forced to watch their content at the lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 and rely on their display to up-convert the resolution to its native resolution.
