Sony, Youtube in talks for full length movies

Sony's entertainment arm has confirmed it is "having conversations with YouTube" regarding posting full length movies on the video sharing site.

Paula Askanas, spokeswoman for Sony Pictures Television in Los Angeles, made the comment in a recent interview but declined to reveal more details, according to Bloomberg.

Sony currently offers older movies and televisin shows online via Crackle, which it acquired for $65 million in 2005. When sharing movies with other sites, Sony insists the sites display the content using the Crackle player. It remains to be seen if YouTube would agree to such conditions, but it is highly unlikely.
