The lockdown on CD labeling

Cnet.com has an article about CD labeling, I thought for some of you this might be intresting.

If you're still using a pen to title your CD/R-RW collection, it's high time to upgrade. Besides making all your discs look like the graffiti-laden walls of CBGB's, pens are no friend to the CD. Some pens scratch the delicate top layer of the disc, and acidic or solvent-based pens ruin the lacquer protective coating. Both make a disc unreadable.

Instead, get some CD-labeling software, a batch of labels, and some jewel cases, and start cleaning up your act. If you do, the CDs you burn will look as good as the CDs you buy. This is nice for when the disc is destined for your music library, but it's even better if the disc is a gift or a demo.

Software-only labeling

Make professional-looking CDs with low-priced labeling software. Or print the original cover art for no cost at all. We'll show you how.

Stick with major labels

You might save a few bucks by using a paper label, but it could hurt your disc or--even worse--peel off in your drive. Going with one of these software/applier combos can make your discs even more professional-looking.
