After being officially launched in UK, now the review of Toshiba HD-DVD standalone player is available at Pocket-lint.
Two models are available: the lower of two models, the HD-E1 (the one reviewed) is slightly cheaper than the company's other model the HD-XE1, but it has a limitation in output resolution to a maximum of 1080i.
Besides this limitation (that can be noticed only with large screen or with projectors), the Toshiba player is anyway better than conventional DVD players with upscaling capabilities.
