On Feb. 12 the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Napster must stop allowing unlicensed downloads. It's now April 5 and still almost every song can be found. 275,000 titles have been blocked by Napster. However the use of Napster rose 25 percent last week!
"I think users are downloading exactly what they were downloading before, and they're having to work slightly harder," Webnoize analyst Matt Bailey told Newsbytes. "It's still possible to get pretty much anything you want through the Napster system." |
About 593 million songs were downloaded from Napster during the last week of March, up from 473 million the week before, Webnoize said.
Searches this afternoon for songs by Limp Bizkit and Metallica - spelled correctly - produced scores of files, Webnoize said.
I don't seem why you should use another program yet... napster still works fine
