The European launch was expected next year but the date now looks likely to slip into 2002! The US launch is still due to go ahead in the fourth quarter of 2001. It looks likely that Sony's recent struggles have made Microsoft think about the potential pitfalls of attempting to fulfill the huge demand of a simultaneous launch on both sides of the Atlantic.
Xbox's European boss, told a trade newspaper that "The demand for Xbox is so high that we have revised our forecasts and we feel that we can ship many more units this way. We were always going to build a factory in Europe, but we have brought it forward slightly... The downside is that the launch will miss Christmas 2001 in Europe. But this is not a problem. We have spent time talking to the trade and the main thing is that we announce a launch date and stick to it."
Well it sucks for all the Xbox fans, but i think it's better. We don't want to get the same thing wich is happening with PSX2 now, do we...
