Daemon Tools News...

Source: http://www.daemon-tools.com

A lot of things happened the last few weeks but due to lack of time I wasn't able to update the page. I'm currently deep in restructing and re-designing so expect more changes in the near future.

First some news on Safedisc 2. Most of you may have already noticed that Safedisc 2 protected games do not run under Windows 2000 as long as DAEMON Tools is installed. This is because our friends at Macrovision blacklisted our program. Hell knows why they just did it in 2K. It'll be fixed in the next version of DAEMON Tools. VeNoM386 is currently working to make DAEMON Tools fully Safedisc compatible again.

We get a lot of reports of problems with DAEMON Tools lately - and they have all one thing in common: All people reporting these problems have or had Adaptec Easy CD installed.

If u are having problems with this then read their homepage for a solution...

A funny thing was reported by a french user some weeks ago (Thanx Olivier . He claimed that unperfect copies (without unreadable sectors) of Laserlock protected games would run if you selected the Securom emulation of DAEMON Tools. I first wouldn't believe it as Laserlock games don't need subchannel data to be copied - but after a few tests I had to admit the guy was right - the Securom emulation of DAEMON Tools ALSO works for Laserlock! Even for the latest versions (like on e.g. 'Icewind Dale' German).
As already posted in earlier news that DAEMON Tools includes support for 3rd party utilities since version 2.41. The first tools are ready now and can be downloaded in the DAEMON Tools section.
