eMusic announces 250,000 subscribers

The popular online music download service eMusic has announced that it now has 250,000 subscribers.

This marks quite an achievement for them and secures their place as the second biggest download service behind Apple's iTunes. For those who don't know, eMusic is unique amoung music download services as it supplies tracks in mp3 format with no DRM applied to it. So users are not restricted to what device they listen to their music on. Of course none of the major record companies have jumped on board but still manges to offer 2 million tracks.

They also took time to announce new subscription prices for the UK following on from the price changes in the US. Full article can be found over at PC PRO.
